Tiny Houses: Grabbing BIG attention in Colorado

Public meetings planned throughout Jefferson County

Jefferson County, Colorado: Live Simply Colorado in partnership with the Jefferson County Public Library is hosting a series of community meetings to offer information about the Tiny House movement. Meetings are free and participants will include Tiny House Enthusiasts with passion for the movement and knowledge about key areas.

Tiny Houses are catching big attention in Colorado. Attend and learn about the tiny house movement from an organization dedicated to smaller housing alternatives. Barbara Mariner, Live Simply Colorado, discusses what it takes to live tiny, including resources, building know-how, cost, land needed, and legal obstacles.

Live Simply Colorado: an organization dedicated to the promotion of smaller housing alternatives including tiny homes on wheels. She also founded and organizes Tiny House Enthusiasts Denver (http://www.meetup.com/Tiny-House-Enthusiasts-Denver/). With over 650 members, the group has hosted over 50 educational and social events since January 2015. The group is a leading resource for the small house movement in Colorado.

Barbara Mariner: marketing and networking expert, facilitator and speaker. She has used her skills for over 2 years to advocate for the small house movement in Texas and Colorado. Barbara’s goal is to improve access to all tiny home resources (land, money and know-how) and to restore the capability of the community to live a sustainable lifestyle. The main focus in her work is to educate the public and connect with government agencies and organizations. Connecting to all builders in the state of Colorado, she encourages standards to grow the industry as a whole. She has recently been nominated and elected Director of the American Tiny House Association. Founder and Managing Director of Live Simply Colorado, LLC, founded and organizes Tiny House Enthusiasts Denver.
